Theresa Kiene, Chief Executive Mommy & Co-Founder
Theresa left a successful career in television where
she helped develop numerous TV shows, to start Homemade
Baby with her husband, Matt. As Chief Executive Mommy,
Theresa oversees everything, including R&D and marketing.
In addition to her responsibilities as CEM, Theresa
promotes
a healthy
family
lifestyle by
speaking
nationwide
about
organic food and its preparation. She publishes information
on such topics as the value of choosing organics, reading
labels and shopping for organics on a budget. A subscriber
list of more than 4,000 parents across the country receives
regular email newsletters on these and other subjects,
and they have the opportunity to weigh in on their questions
and concerns. Theresa writes a monthly column for Los
Angeles Family Magazine, blogs regularly for the
Homemade Baby website and contributes to several parenting
websites.
She is a member of NAWBO and The Organic Trade Association.
Matt Kiene, President & Co Founder
Matt Kiene, who shares his wife’s passion that every baby deserves the very best nutrition possible, is responsible for overseeing all Homemade Baby operations and sales and is instrumental in helping Theresa translate her vision into a thriving business.
Matt has a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. After practicing corporate law in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, Matt defied his mother’s wishes and left law to work in the television industry as a writer/producer. Since 1991 he’s written/produced such shows as L.A. Law,
Law & Order, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda. Then, in 2005 he defied his agent’s wishes and left the television industry to co-found Homemade Baby with Theresa. The Kienes live in Los Angeles with their three daughters, the original homemade babies: Olivia, Isabella and Clara.

Matt Berman, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer.

Matt is responsible for driving profitable growth in the US market and eventually abroad for Homemade Baby. Matt joins Homemade Baby from Royal Numico, the world’s second largest baby food company recently acquired by Group Danone, where as Vice President Marketing, Baby Food he led Numico’s successful innovation agenda. Matt most recently headed the company’s baby food operations in Portugal. He was previously a Global Marketing Director at Novartis and Senior Vice President, Global Fragrance Marketing at Coty, Inc. Matt spent the first 10 years of his career in marketing at Procter & Gamble and attended The Wharton School of Business and SUNY Plattsburgh. Matt is the father of three boys aged 8, 6, and 4.

Scott Fitch. Senior Vice President, Sales.

Scott leads the company’s national distribution expansion in natural foods stores, supermarkets, and club stores. In addition, Scott oversee’s all aspects of Homemade Baby’s ambitious Green Initiatives. Scott joins Homemade Baby from Stonyfield Farm, one of the world’s largest brands of organic products, which is 80% owned by Group Danone. Scott joined Stonyfield in 2002 and quickly became Director of Sales for the West Coast, where he successfully engineered the company’s launch and growth in the western U.S. He was previously Director of Sales at Gardenburger and Con Agra Grocery. Scott spent the first 11 years of his career in sales at Campbell’s Soup and attended Cal State University at Fullerton. Scott is married and is the father of two boys, aged 15 &11.
