Living an Organic Lifestyle

Looking to live an organic lifestyle but don’t know where to start? Here are some tips to get you started.

When people think of living an organic lifestyle they can get some funny ideas. Hippies growing their own hemp clothing and using leaves to go to the bathroom?

Well it really doesn’t have to be that way. There are many option available today that won’t change your lifestyle but lets you reap the rewards.

Eat Organic Food

This is the first place people start. And it’s a smart move. You will see the largest difference with this choice.

The larger portion of of toxins and chemicals you’re trying to ovoid by going organic will be done with this step, especially organic baby food.

Vegetables, fruits, meats and dairy are all full of some nasty stuff. Pesticides, hormones and chemicals are put right into your body from food.

Eating food certified organic will make sure you eliminate all of these. Everyone I’ve talked to who eats organic has had a large increase in their overall health. It’s easier than you think to make home made baby food.

Soaps and Cleaners

This is the second biggest way chemicals enter your body.

Your skin is your bodies first line of defense from the outside world. It’s an important part of your immune system.

Your skin can’t stop everything though. Soap, shampoo and conditioner, detergent and more all have chemicals. These chemicals can and do penetrate your skin and make their way into your body.

Many people see the symptoms of this but don’t know the cause. Acne, oily skin, dry skin, eczema and more can be cause from these chemicals.

How to go make the switch?

Now that we have the two biggest changes to your lifestyle how should you go about it?

Starting small will make it a whole lot easier. This will make sure you aren’t wasting a bunch of money at once.

Going out and buy all new soaps, cleaner and detergent is expensive. What happens if you don’t like any of them? You either through them all away or force yourself to use them up.

Start with a product or two and find brands that you like. Work things in gradually so you can really find the right products for you.

Start growing some of your own food is a great way to save some money. You don’t need a lot of space to grow spices, some vegetables and fruits. Plant some of your favorites and enjoy the delicious fruits of your labor.

Look for sales on organic bedding and clothing. The holidays are a great time for this. Everyone will be cutting their prices. Bedding in particular will last you a long time so it’s a worthwhile investment.

An organic lifestyle doesn’t need to be a emergency. You can take your time and make the transition over several months. You will continue to see the benefits the more you change. But you don’t want to make it so rough you give up.

If you have a baby there is some more you can do to make sure they start off living organic. Do some research on how you can do this, it’ll be worth it.

Living organic is worth the effort. Use the above tips to minimize any difficulties that come with it. Once you make the switch you won’t ever look back.
